When my grandfather passed away, he gave an '86 Mustang GT to my father. My dad eventually got a new car and gave it to me. By the time I got it, it had spent around 2 decades on the salty NYC roads which had taken quite its toll. It was painted in the late 90s, and that shop did a terrible job. Because of its rough life, I affectionately called it the Rustang.
I had stripped it down to a bare shell in hopes that I can replace the rotted sheet metal and build my ultimate dedicated drag car. Since we all know how life changes our best laid plans, I think it's time to let it go.
I really don't want to scrap it, but I don't know if it's worth selling. Take a peak at the pics and let me know what you guys think. Can I sell it, how much do you think?
The engine bay is 100% stripped of everything, the hydraulic brake lines and booster were removed from the car because the hard lines were so corroded they actually burst. The bottom of the doors and the rear hatch are completely rusted, so they'll have to be replaced. The front fenders are pretty rusted but they're unbolted. The fuel tank is removed, fuel lines etc. I pretty much tore it down to the bare chassis, with the front subframe still bolted, and the rear end till in place so the thing can roll.
The floor pan needs to be replaced (there's holes in it), but the worst thing is the bottom of the A pillars have some serious rust issues.
