I have a little bit of money burning a whole into my pocket, and being the good jalop that I am, I decided to postpone buying a stupidly big TV for a bit and go all in on preventative maintenance on my old steed.
So far I've decided to get the following things changed: engine oil and filter, gearbox oil, spark plugs, air filter, brake fluid and coolant. Am I missing anything?
What I don't know is whether late '90s v-tec engines need their valve clearance checked/adjusted from time to time or not. A google search didn't come up with conclusive results neither did filing through the service history of my car. Don't all newer engines have hydraulic lifters that make adjusting the valve clearance a thing of the past? Or am I wrong here? Any opinions?
Monkey! Did you ever adjust it on your Civic?
