Next summer, my parents want to replace our 2005 Caravan. My dad likes the new Caravans, but they both agree that those are ugly and my mom has to daily it, so she's especially adamant that it can't be another minivan. So, Oppo, what reasonably-priced, reliable, relatively fuel-efficient American cars are there? (My grandpa worked for Ford, so we'd get a discount on one of those, and if it's something else, he'd want it to be American. That's not debatable. And yes, I realize that Ford has partnerships and ownerships in so many foreign brands, but that doesn't matter for some reason.)

We want it to have room for four people's luggage on a two/three-week vacation, and a 3rd row of seats would be a plus but it's not necessary. (or rear-facing seats in the trunk, but we can't afford a Model S and I don't know of any other modern cars like that...)
