This could be the year that Rally Sports finally leave their mark on America. If you're a fan you've probably been hearing (or saying that) for a long time, but this year is different now that we have Rally America on the NBC Sports Network and Redbull in charge of the Global Rallycross.
In spite of all that, the best way to experience an event is through the eyes of a team. Celebrate with them in their highs, and root for them when they're down. In 2013 we brought you Launch Control, a ground-breaking documentary series covering the Subaru Rally Team USA and the Subaru Puma Rallycross team.
The 2013 Rally America season ended on a high note for the Subaru Rally Team USA, but it wasn't easy. Ken Block and his Hoonigan Racing Division (Ford) pushed the Subaru team of David Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew down to the final day of competition. With only a handful of stages remaining, a disastrous roll by Block handed victory to team Subaru.
For Subaru's Global Rallycross team, 2013 wasn't as triumphant. The Olsbergs Ford teams were a dominant force all season with drivers Scott Speed and Toomas Heikkinen taking home Gold in seven of the nine races.
Now, it's 2014 and the slate is once again wiped clean. Both teams have new cars and new challenges ahead. Join us as we once again bring you the inside story on Season 2 of Launch Control. In this episode, the Subaru Rally Team USA heads to Michigan to reclaim the event and begin their long journey for another Championship Title.
