Kids These Days

I ride my bike through the neighborhood in the mornings, and I pass by numerous teens at or walking to the bus stop. Just about every single one of them has earphones in their ears, heads down, staring at a screen. Boy, are they missing out. They need to learn to walk to school like I did when I was their age: with their head up facing the world, with their ears open listening to the sounds around them, smoking a joint.
