Ed Carpenter has won the pole for next weekends Indy 500. His average speed was 228.762 MPH. I also believe he is the only owner driven, single car team to make it into the final 9 showdown. Ed has a history of running pretty well on the ovals and in big races over the last few years. He also seems to be pretty down to earth even though he is part of the Holman-George family. This also marks the last race for Derek Walker with the team before he takes on the role of competition director for Indycar. This all rates pretty high on the "feel good meter" and would be pretty great if they could convert today's work into a win.
