As someone who loves the Pikes Peak race, and who misses the past but is absolutely amazed at Sebastien Loeb's run up the mountain yesterday. I truly believe that there are (at least) three kings of the mountain. Because you cannot directly compare the different eras... Each is different but all are amazing feats to be celebrated.

Disclosure: This article contains the thoughts and adventures of a twenty year-old college student who’s been autocrossing for one and a half years, but just this year switched from a trusty but tired HHR to a Mazda NB Miata and, having to learn how to autocross it from square one. Treat it like a somewhat useful beginner’s guide to autocrossing. It’ll also include pictures of cool cars ranging from 300ZX to Evora to an El Camino. My thoughts and words here may not entirely reflect my region’s or SCCA’s views. Unlike last time, I made sure to take pictures…so many pictures. Oh, and my organization might be all over the place, sorry.

I was standing at brown bush corner, waiting for a car to come screaming sideways around the bend, but instead a Pontiac Solstice comes clattering up, trailing oil smoke and hot metal. Yesterday, after a 7-hour flight, the 747 I rode in from BWI touched down in Ramstein Air Base. This experience is followed by being passed by several late-model wagons on the highway. From those first few minutes, I can already tell that I am going to have a great time in the land of unicorn cars.

For those of you who had read and followed my car search the past few months, you've seen my new baby. I'm trying to figure out a name for it but not a priority. I don't really need to call it by anything, really just as a joke. So, I'm still learning how to drive properly at low gears, it's a work in progress. Anywho, quick impressions are as follows.

Between the terrible road conditions, dense street grid, abundance of pedestrians, and maniacal cabbies and panel vans, New York is not a friendly environment for cars. So it's always a pleasant surprise when you come upon something unique and unusual braving the conditions, and such is the case with this 1989 Lincoln Town Car Mafia Wars Series (note: not a real trim level).

As always, If I've missed something and you would like me to include it, let me know.
