61st 12 Hours Of Sebring: Hour 1 Update

The first hour of the 2013 12 Hours of Sebring is in the books, and it's been an eventful one.

In LMP1, Audi is pulling away as expected, holding first and second over Muscle Milk's HPD in third. Despite an off for the #12 Rebellion Lola earlier, this class has seen little excitement so far.

LMP2 was lead for most of the run by Greaves, but Ryan Hunter-Reay is now clear into the lead in his Level 5 HPD.

LMPC started with one of the favorites, the CORE #05, getting itself punted by the #3 Corvette. That car now sits in 7th, but it started with it's amateur and thus should be better later in the run. The class is being lead by Pierre Kaffer in DragonSpeed's Oreca FLM09.

Corvette's #4 took the lead from Risi Competizione on the start, and now handily holds it over the #62 Ferrari. Marc Goosens has charged from 10th on the grid to fill the final podium spot in his Viper. However, the highlights of this hour came off the track, with the #97 Aston Martin and #3 Corvette, both race favorites, already behind the wall for repairs.

In GTC, Andy Lally has kept a comfortable lead from pole in his Dempsey/Del Piero #27, with Jeroen Bleekemolen (#22 AJR) and Sean Edwards (#30 NGT) rounding out the podium.

The Deltawing has also had an issue, and still sits behind the wall. It's Elan built engine struggled to even complete five laps.

RETIREMENTS: none yet.

"R U FASTER THAN A REDNECK?" ADS ON SPEED: just one so far.
